Collage is an essential process for me. The act of taking existing images and rebuilding them into something new is transformative. I cut, rearrange, destroy, create, taking pleasure in the unexpected associations and coincidences. With the process comes hope. To quote Kurt Schwitters, "one can destroy a world and, with knowledge and respect for possibilities, construct a new world out of the ruins.”
